Are you an educator, researcher, or student?

We are excited to announce that Opsanus Fund will award its first grants this spring. Two types of grants will be awarded, education and research.

Grants for teachers, education programs, and K-12 students

Grants of up to $300 will be provided to support education and student led research related to Opsanus Funds mission. Examples of potential grants include funds to acquire supplies for a lesson on sound, purchase a recording device to record birds around a school or community center, or items to support a science fair project.

Grant proposals will be reviewed as they are submitted and awardees will be notified by the beginning of the following month

Grants for researchers

Grants up to $2,000 will be awarded to support scientific research on the soundscapes, bioacoustics, and the effect of noise. Graduate students and undergraduate seniors being supervised by a faculty research are invited to apply.

Grants must be submitted by February 1, 2026 and awardees will be notified by March 1, 2026.
